We went ice fishing !! It was 24 degrees and the snow that was falling was blowing sideways. I would have been content to stay inside but Bailey being 9 was ready to go. So I did what any good dad would do, put on my coat and got ready to freeze. Armed with our yamaha rhino, new auger and 2 dozen minnows we set out. We set 10 tip ups and waited. Out of boredom we moved 3 tip ups and drove the rino around. After hours of horizontal blowing snow and slight frost bite there was a flag. I thought it was probably due to the 40 mph wind but Bailey was excited anyway. Bailey grabbed the line and slowly retrieved it from the hole, until it pulled back. After several anxious minutes a 34 inch 14 pound northern pike emerged from the hole. We took several pictures and carefully slid him back into the hole he came out of. We saw no other flags or fish that day but in my opinion, any day spent having fun with your son is a good day.
