This spring has been some of the best walleye fishing Ive ever seen with many people catching there limit frequently. The largest walleye at this point is 5.5 pounds. We recently had a nice family staying with us spanning three generations. A mother, son ,his wife and children. The son worked hard all week looking for the walleye, spending many days in a boat. Mom relaxed and enjoyed the peace and quiet. On the last day of fishing the son went out in the boat looking for that illusive trophy while mom sat on the dock in an Adirondack chair. She noticed a pole had been left behind with only a hook, rubber worm and bobber for tackle. She put what tackle she had on and threw it in. Shortly after the rod she had leaned on the railing took off. After taking control of the rod she hauled in a 4 1/2 pound large mouth. The son returned  to learn mom had out fished him that day. They all had a good laugh and the son was very happy for his mom. It always seems to be that the fisherman who are the least serious about fishing catch the nicest fish.
