Spring will be here before we know it. While no one on the planet will forget 2020 let's hope 21 will be more kind. Fishing last year was great. I saw many nice fish with the largest walleye of 6.5 pounds. The walleye appear to be cycling up in size. It's time to dream happy thoughts of warm summer days adrift on the water. Try to stay safe and we hope to see you soon.

Winter is refusing to end this year. We had 3 inches of fresh snow yesterday and are still waiting for ice out on the lake. We will open as soon as weather permits.
Its been a strange spring in union falls but this weekend was beautiful. Walleyes started hitting about a week ago with some catching there limits. A couple nice pike were landed in the 5 pound range. No black flies to speak of and warm weather, time to hit the water.
July and August weather was perfect and the fishing stayed good. Usually come August the fishing slows down with water temps in the upper 70s but this year kept producing nice fish. Our friends Curt, Max and Jodi consistently did well all season. Fishing this fall should be great with the water temps falling. The hot colors so far this year have been rainbow, fire tiger and pink blue combinations. Good luck this fall. I'm adding some photos from the 80s and 90s at Mcintyres to the pictures page. I hope you enjoy the pics of days past.
June brought endless rain and high water that seemed to scatter the walleye. Some nice fish were still caught including a 6.25 pound walleye. The lake has finely returned to normal levels and anglers are hoping to zero in. Last weekend we had a good walleye catch and one nice 7.47 pound pike. Fish or no fish its a great time of year to be on the water.
Not much ice fishing this winter. We did get out one time in late February and caught a few. One pike and two perch. The company of good friends made up for the lack of fish and a good time was had by all.If ice fishing were just about the number of fish caught, one would be disappointed more times than not. Think warm thoughts and hope to see you all soon.
![]() This spring has been some of the best walleye fishing Ive ever seen with many people catching there limit frequently. The largest walleye at this point is 5.5 pounds. We recently had a nice family staying with us spanning three generations. A mother, son ,his wife and children. The son worked hard all week looking for the walleye, spending many days in a boat. Mom relaxed and enjoyed the peace and quiet. On the last day of fishing the son went out in the boat looking for that illusive trophy while mom sat on the dock in an Adirondack chair. She noticed a pole had been left behind with only a hook, rubber worm and bobber for tackle. She put what tackle she had on and threw it in. Shortly after the rod she had leaned on the railing took off. After taking control of the rod she hauled in a 4 1/2 pound large mouth. The son returned to learn mom had out fished him that day. They all had a good laugh and the son was very happy for his mom. It always seems to be that the fisherman who are the least serious about fishing catch the nicest fish. Nice fish mom it was a pleasure to have you and hope to see you all soon. After what seemed like an endless winter spring is finally here. Ice left late so fishing has really just started. Last weekend was the first time any number of people were fishing to get a feel for whats biting. The walleye were the main target and are biting, the largest was a 5 1/2 pound walleye. Big perch, ranging 12 to 14 inches. No big pike yet and bass wont open for a few weeks. Looks like its a good start to a great year of fishing. As soon as I get a pic of the 5 1/2 pounder I'll post it. Time to get outside!
Its been very cold with little snow. Looking forward to spring.
